"The less we need to rely on our identities to make sense of information, the more we can learn about the world, and uncover our true place within it." This quote resonated with me. I might also like to add that sinply by being lesd judgemental about someone else's consumption of information - whether by diligence or curiosity - one can learn a lot instead of dismissing it as "wasteful" ;-)
😄 Absolutely true Shivani. If everything we consume is viewed only through the lens of utility, then we lose our curiosity spirit. And once we lose that, we lose many things, like our unique individual ability to form perspectives, the art of reason, thirst for knowledge, creativity etc. Then everything will appear as wasteful information only :-). So if someone is judging us that way, it tells a lot about their spirit of curiosity and their attitude towards it 😄.
Just when I was 'motivated' to be 'disciplined', you threw the quote "Sometimes, taking time is actually a short-cut", at me!
Hold my beer as I process the two contradicting ideas.
Context matters a lot :-)
